|This is soooo how I felt today|
Some days you got it. Some days you don’t. Today was definitely a “don’t kinda day”. I felt lifeless from the time I got up this morning, and I really just wanted to stay curled up in bed and sleep the rest of the week away. So when the time came to do my lunchtime workout I thought to myself, “oh missing one day won’t hurt”. But here’s where my gold star comes in. Rather than giving into my feelings, I literally pushed myself to go to the gym, and then pushed myself to get through my workout. Although I didn’t do what I planned to do for my cardio, I still had a great workout and I felt better afterwards.
My mindset these days is this: unless I am sick or a circumstance arises where I just can’t get my workout in, skipping it simply is not an option, and not “feeling” like it is definitely not an excuse. Developing discipline to keep pressing on no matter what is part of my journey. I realize there are going to be days when I have energy to do what needs to be done, and then there will be days when I won’t, like today. But I plan to at least show up for the game, and take it from there.
I have to say that each time I’ve found myself at this crossroad, and made the decision to press my way through, the result has always been a feeling of accomplishment and also a major boost of energy.
