This morning I ran in my third 5K race this year and I can’t believe how much fun I had. OMgoodness the fun factor of this race made it worth the “workout”. I loved this race so much that it will be an annual race for me. This wasn’t a timed race or one of the more serious races. It was real relaxed and everyone had a ball.
All along the race route volunteers were stationed with color packs ready to pelt us with yellow, orange, blue, green, and purple cornstarch. My friend Donna and I got our run on and managed to take some cool pictures along the way. Of course BGR was in the house and was well represented at the race.
Washing that stuff off was another story…lol. I still have blue stains on my arm and on my face. I guess I have to break out the scrub brush…lol. But it doesn’t matter, because I would do it again in a heart beat.
Fun! That’s what has kept me in the “race of my personal journey”. The fun is what keeps me moving forward. The fun is what motivates me to do it all again. The fun is what inspires me to try new things. I am totally convinced that having “fun” on a weight loss journey is an ABSOLUTE must! And that’s why I participate in 5K races. That’s why I teach Zumba! That’s why I constantly try new things…not only to challenge myself but to simply have FUN!!! Whoot Whoot!!!!!
Okay, now it’s time to figure out what to do next. Stay tuned!
