Something is off. I feel like I’m running on “E”. I’ve been feeling bad for the past few days. I’ve been dizzy and lightheaded. I feel run down. My head has been hurting for three days and I feel like I could sleep for a week. But as much as I’d really like to be able to do that, I can’t. I’ve got things to do, weight to lose and people to help. I have no time to dream about sleep. I have to keep moving. That’s the superwoman in me talking. The more realistic side of me is saying…girl, you better get your act together. And so with that here’s how I’m planning to get myself out of this rut.
1 – I have a doctor’s appointment today just to make sure all is well with my blood pressure. My head has been feeling like it’s going to explode and I’m not trying to stoke out.
2 – My healthy eating has been hit or miss here lately and I know that has a lot to do with how I’m feeling. So detox here I come. Nothing extreme, but I think I’m going to follow Dr. Ian Smith’s Smash Diet…at least the first phase of it to rid my body of destructive toxins and to get myself back on my healthy eating regimen.
3 – I’m pulling out my resistance bands tonight and I’m going to do a serious upper body workout. I need to move something. I need to bust a sweat. I need to shake off the cobwebs.
4 – Sleep hasn’t been a problem, but I’m thinking my body is craving some relaxation. I’ve been working non-stop and I’m guessing it’s time to take a chill pill for a day or two. So I’m gonna schedule some time off within the next week or so with plans to do absolutely NOTHING during that time. This is gonna be hard…pray for me.
5 – I think I’m gonna lay off the coffee for a while. Although I drink decaf, I still add sugar to it and I know that could be affecting how I feel.
6 – I don’t think I’m dehydrated, but I’m gonna up the ante on my water intake as well. Although I’ve been doing pretty good, I could stand to do better.

What are some things you do to make yourself feel better and more alive when you start to feel tired and run down?

Water intake is a killer. It’s hard to make sure you drink enough. Also, you should switch to green tea. It still gives you a caffeine hit but is better for you,

Hey Patricia! You are so right about the water. If I’m not conscious about drinking it throughout the day I can easily go all day without taking a sip. I really have to make a conscious effort to drink it. Thanks so much for the green tea recommendation. I will definitely add that to my daily intake.
