I started to name this post: 6 Things I’m Saying Goodbye To In 2016. Then I remembered a conversation I had with my girlfriend Gail, just the other day. In that conversation she encouraged me to focus on the things I want rather than the things I don’t want in my life. And so with that I’m going to share with you the 8 things I’m saying hello to as it relates to my health and well-being in 2016.
I’m Saying Hello To Stepping Outside Of My Comfort Zone
In 2016, I am going to feel the fear and do it anyway. I have so many ideas and things I want to do, but because I’ve been fearful of what others might say or think, or fearful of not doing as well as I would like, I’ve not stepped out of my comfort zone to do what needs to be done to bring my ideas to fruition. As the quote by Neale Donald Walsch says, “life begins at the end of your comfort zone”, I’m ready to bring my dreams to life.
I’m Saying Hello To Allowing My Light To Shine
I love this quote by Fabienne Fredrickson. “To create a big ripple effect, stop keeping yourself a secret.” How can I help and serve others if I don’t let people know what I do? No more hiding my gifts under a bushel. I’m going to allow my light to shine and shine brightly so that the people I’v been gifted to help and serve can receive their blessing.
I’m Saying Hello To Making This The Year Of My Best Body
Just in case you didn’t know, I love Oprah Winfrey. I also love the fact that she has invested in Weight Watchers and is now a spokesperson for them. The new Weight Watchers commercial really strike a cord with me, especially this one:
Oprah, I’m right there with you and I too am going to make 2016 the year of my best body!
I’m Saying Hello To Being More Intentional
I know that I have a purpose. I know that my purpose is to help, inspire and motivate others. Whether it is to lose weight or whether it is to pick themselves up and dust themselves off from whatever life throws at them. I have the gift of exhortation and I am going to be more intentional about using my gift. That means no more haphazard living. When my feet hit the floor each morning, I’m going to know and be prepared to share, help and inspire those who need to be uplifted. Planning, being purposeful and preparing myself on a daily basis will help me to reach this goal.
I’m Saying Hello To Taking More Vacation Time To Relax, Replenish And Enjoy
Some of my friends might say that I am a workaholic. And I’m not going to confirm or deny this to be the case. What I will say is that what I know for sure is that all work and no play makes Stacey a cranky, irritable and miserable person and I’m not having that in 2016!
I’m Saying Hello to Being Fit, Fab, and Fierce
Now understand this. I’ve got the fab and the fierce parts on lock. Clearly I’m not lacking in self-esteem…LOL, but 2016 is going to be the year of “my fit”. My goal is to really focus on strengthening and toning my body. Yes I want to lose weight, and yes I will lose weight, but my goal is not to be a size 6. I will be a very happy size 16 because my fit fab and fierce goal is more about feeling good, feeling and being healthy and toning and tightening up what my momma gave me and I don’t need to be a size 6 to accomplish that!

Hi Christine! So nice to “virtually” meet you. I glad you enjoyed the post. It sounds like we are both going to be focusing more on our own self-care and well being in the new year. I hope you find success in doing so. Looking forward to seeing you again. Happy New Year!
