Whenever I feel like my hard work and sacrifice is all in vain because the number on the scale is not reading what I think it should read, my first inclination is to throw up both my hands and give up. I mean why bother?
But then I start to envision myself stronger, faster, healthier, slimmer and fit. I allow the picture in my head to spur me on and keep me going, because I know if not now, eventually the vision will be my reality if I keep going.
My vision includes:
- The song “The Men All Paused” playing when I walk in the room…lol
- Beyonce’s arms on my body
- Comments from people who haven’t seen me in a while saying, “Wow, look at you!”
- Being able to take all hills without being winded when I reach the top
- Crossing the finish line of my first marathon
- Being on stage with Beto teaching a Zumba routine to thousands
My vision gives me the spark of inspiration I need to work hard and to keep moving even especially on the days when I don’t feel like it.

I love the picture of you on the website here! You look really fabulous and sassy! love it. I believe if you tell yourself every day how fabulous you look already, how much you love yourself already, the weight you want to release (I have a friend who calls it weight releasing, because if you lose something you’ll always find it again…yikes!) will just drop off and you’ll stay motivated more easily. Well done for keeping going…I’ve recently stopped smoking, and it’s a constant thing to keep motivated. I love the imagery you’ve got going on. I like to dance and sing my way into motivation 😀 Glad I stumbled on your post in UBC 😀

Hi Andrea! Releasing the weight…I LOVE THAT!! No I definitely don’t want to find it again once it’s gone Maintaining motivation to stick to our commitments to ourselves is hard, but it helps to know people are rooting for you. Congratulations on giving up smoking! Stay motivated. Stay committed. Keep dancing and singing I’m rooting for you. Thanks for stopping by. Don’t be a stranger
