I’m all up in my head tonight because I’m not progressing as much or as fast as I would like. I’m not depressed or anything like that but I can’t help but compare my weight loss journey now with my weight loss journey four years ago and not be disappointed with my progress and abilities.
Things are much harder for me now. Because of my back I can’t do the things that I really enjoy and that I know were the keys to my weight loss four years ago. I’m still working on adjusting to having to take on a different approach and I’m not sure if I’ve fully embraced it yet. You see in my mind I’m thinking that if I can’t exercise like anything then I won’t be able to lose the weight. But actually the opposite is true. If I can really embrace and get a handle on my eating and the nutritional side of this journey then realistically I know I’ll start to see the progress I’m looking for.
Of course for me the eating part is the hardest part. Exercising came easy for me especially after I found things that I enjoyed doing. In doing those things daily the weight began to melt off and I was looking and feeling great. Now I have to find away to get those same results and feelings from changing my diet and I’ll be very honest, it’s been a struggle.
I would love to go back to Weight Watchers because that’s the one program that works for me. But financially I just can’t swing the weekly payments. In my mind I can use that $15 towards my grocery bill. But you know what? There is more than one way to skin a cat. I don’t have to “join” Weight Watchers to “do” Weight Watchers. With that said, I have pulled out my points calculator and pocket guide and I am going back to counting points. That works for me and so I’m going back to working it.
Now I know Weight Watchers has a new program but I’m pretty sure that that doesn’t mean that the “old” one doesn’t still work, so I’m not buying into that tactic. As far as the part that really worked for me, which was the weekly meetings, I am going to start having my own meetings. Through my Weight No More Accountability Group I think I want to start having weekly Google Hangout Meetings, which I’ll facilitate. I think that would be fun and I know it will definitely motivated me to stay on top of my game.
So, there you have it…a lesson in cat skinning…lol. I’m excited and looking forward to getting this ball rolling. Now I have to go learn how to work Google Hangouts
