Last week was an epic fail when it came to eating. Although my intentions were there, healthy eating was a hit or miss (mostly miss). But that’s all water under the bridge (and perhaps a few added pounds on my hips). No time to dwell on what didn’t happen. I’ve got to move on. It’s the start of a new week and that means it’s goal setting time. I have a very busy week ahead and I know I have to be strategic about how I go about my days in order to avoid burnout, binge eating and going ballistic. Feel me? I know that if I focus on these five area’s I will have a successful and winning or should I say “losing” week!
Morning routine – last week my morning routine was hit or miss and so was my week. This week it’s back to taking charge of my day before it takes charge of me. With the week I have ahead of me there is no way I’ll come out on the winning side without prayer and without easing into my days. The days will be long and hectic, so it’s imperative for me to plan out some me time ahead of time, which will make all the difference in the world.
Daily To Do List – when I get to the office I won’t have time to sit there contemplating what to do next. I have too many things clamoring for my attention, all of which are time sensitive and I need to have a firm grip on what to do long before the time to do it comes. Creating and following a daily to do list is an absolute must.
Mapping and scheduling out my workout routine – I’ve mapped out my daily routines and I’m actually looking forward to working out. I will be getting up a half hour earlier to fit it in before work so I won’t run the risk of using “being tired” after work as an excuse.
Monday – stretching and upper body work, 5000 steps
Tuesday – stretching and lower body work, 5000 steps
Wednesday – stretching, core work and cardio (dancing), 5000 steps
Thursday – stretching and upper body work, 5000 steps
Friday – stretching and lower body work, 5000 steps
Saturday – stretching and 7000 steps
Meal planning and meal prep – I will be roasting my veggies for the week and baking my chicken today so that I won’t be stuck without healthy meals this week. After working 12 hour days the last thing I’ll want to do is to come home and cook. No can do. That’s just not going to happen and if I’m not prepared I will surely opt for fast food and that is not an option. So meal planning (knowing in advance what I’ll be eating each day), and preparing it ahead of time will be my life saver, especially this week.
