I’m feeling pretty good about my accomplishment today. When I sat down yesterday to do my weekly planning, I made a commitment to myself to stick to the plans I set forth. I really put some thought into what my week was going to be like and planned my eating and workouts accordingly. I knew I would have to look at each day separate and independent from any other, and by taking on this one day at a time approach I am proud to say that I was able to successfully stay on plan today.
One of the things about focusing on one day at a time is that it takes the pressure off. My one and only concern for today was what I needed to do…today to stay on track and be successful.
Just for today, I could make it to the gym, and I did and got in a 2.25 walk/run.
Just for today, I could follow my menu and stay within my points, and I did (with 2 to spare).
Just for today, I could be mindful about what I was feeling: Was I hungry, bored, tired, etc. and therefore make a conscious decision to deal with the feelings rather than eat them away.
Just for today, I could push myself in my workout, knowing that once it was done, it was done and I would feel 100% better after moving my body, and I did.
Just for today, I could write down everything I put into my mouth and stay within my alloted points without going over.
Just for today, I could be successful in all that I set out to do and I could go to bed knowing I did my best and the results of my efforts today will show up later in the week.
Now that today is over and was a huge success, my focus is now on tomorrow and having it be a duplicate of today. My new motto is, if I did it yesterday, I can do it again today…but just for today 😉

What commitment can you make to yourself and stick with…just for today?

I like this a lot and will incorporate it into my life because I really need to get consistent to achieve the goals I have set for myself.
Thanks for the classes on Thursday and Saturday!
