Happy Monday! Is it me or is Monday the one day of the week that seems to roll around quicker than any other? Maybe it’s because I jam so much into my weekend, I don’t have enough time to catch my breath before I am thrust back into the start of a new week.
Speaking of weekends, I had a pretty adventurous one. It started off with an extra fun Zumba class. The ladies came ready to get it in and so did I. When it was all said and done we left out of class knowing we had put in a good cardio workout. This girl was on fire…so much so that I slide in two extra songs
Following the class, my sweetie and I drove to Nockamixon State Park to go small game hunting, and that’s where my fun-o-meter went off the chart. After parking and donning ourselves in our orange hunting gear, we set out to find some squirrels. Let me just say this. Finding squirrels in the woods is not as easy as one might think. I see squirrels everyday, all day long in the city. So much so that I find myself slamming on the breaks to avoid hitting them. This is so not the case in the woods. We were out there for over two hours and spotted only two squirrels. That’s a squirrel an hour. Ain’t nobody got time for dat…LOL.
Anywho, about ten minutes into our hike, I spotted the first squirrel. I hesitated in telling my sweetie for just a moment because I didn’t want him to shoot the little guy. But my loyalty to my guy won out and after two shoots at the squirrel who had made his way up the tallest tree he could find, the little fellow came tumbling down.
Not only did the whole experience get my adrenaline flowing, it was also a serious workout. Although I know we didn’t, it sure felt like we walked through the ENTIRE park. My legs are STILL feeling it! Oh yeah, Saturday was a good day. I got a double workout in, caught a squirrel, held it….yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck. Now I am preparing myself mentally and physically for my next adventure, which will be taking place next month. I’m going dear hunting. I have to be in shape to take the hike to our tree stand, which I swear is three miles into the woods, and then I have to be in shape to help my sweetie get the dear back to the truck. I’m sure I will have a story to share…stay tuned

I am sending PETA to get you. Girl, you are brave to hold that squirrel by its tail. I’ve got chills just thinking about it.
Anywho.. Good for you (I think, lol)
