This is my 100th day of blogging about my journey. Wow, not only can’t I believe how quickly the time has gone by, but I can’t believe how much I’ve been able to accomplish in these 100 days. This amazing journey is allowing me to learn so much about myself and have fun in the process. I can’t wait to see what the next 266 days will bring. The other day one of my BGR (Black Girls Run!) sisters shared something that has really sustained me during my journey. She said her personal trainer said to her, “If you weren’t in a hurry to get fat, then why are you in such a rush to try to get skinny? Slow down and do things the right way…invest the time. The reward will be that much greater!” I really like how he put it. As I have shared before, it took me 32 years to get to this point and although I want the weight GONE, I am committed to taking my time because I want all the things I am learning to stick and to become apart of what I do naturally. So when I read these words of wisdom it reinforced for me that I am on the right track! This whole taking my time thing has been my mindset from the beginning. As I’ve said before, the rewards are in the process and all of the accomplishments I find myself making on my way to the finish line. In doing it slowly and consistently it allows for my new habits to become a part of who I am and not just something I’m doing for the moment. So now that I have 100 days behind me, I’m looking forward to the next 266 days to make further progress. I’m ready to kick it up a notch, being careful to make gradual longlasting changes that will undoubtedly lead to more success. Slow and steady definitely wins the race! Much Love, Stacey
