On Monday, ABC debuted it’s new daytime program call “The Revolution”. I was glad I had the day off to see the first show, which featured two sisters (The Harris Sisters) who had gotten to a point in their lives where they said enough is enough, and decided to do something about their weight. As explained by the show, their team of dieticians, personal trainers, therapists and stylist worked with the sisters over the course of five months and showed their journey on the show all this week. Not only were their bodies transformed but also their wardrobe, and their living space. At the start of their journey they created their “Me List”, which included 3 things:
- Put me at the top of the list
- Learn independence (the sisters did EVERYTHING together)
- Do something that my weight and size kept me from doing
I love that list…so much that I am going to re-create my own “Me List” and add number 3 to mine. Number one was already at the top of my list.
Well today, I was home caring for my Mom who had cataract surgery. I was able to see the big reveal of the sisters who lost a combined weight of 109lbs. As each sister stepped on the scale to the tune of a 57lb and 52lb weight loss, I burst into tears. I cried like a baby for them because I could literally feel their joy. I know it hit me as hard as it did, because I also knew their pain and their struggle. I also know how hard it is and equally how rewarding it is to reach a goal you’ve worked so hard to accomplish.
Their story was just another one that inspired me to continue on my journey. Once they got to that enough is a enough point in their lives, they committed to doing the work and didn’t make any excuses!
Much Love
