I am fortunate to have a job that affords me some flexibility. I’m grateful for that because I am not relegated to a set lunchtime. When I head out for my “lunchtime” workout, that time could be 11:00a.m, 12:00 noon, 1:00p.m., 2:00p.m., etc. It really depends on when I can step away for an hour.
Well today, I went to the gym a little earlier than usual. While I was working out, one of the brothers who works out regularly there came over to me to ask me where I’d been. Now me being me, with eyebrows raised and a smile in my mind I thought to myself….(hmmm, I didn’t know you were looking). But I composed myself, and explained to him (with a bat of my lashes of course 😉 that I had been there on my regularly scheduled days, but that the time I could step away from my desk fluctuated so I don’t have as set time for coming in. He let me know that he was glad to see me and glad to know that I was being consistent and committed to my workouts. He encouraged me to keep at it and to stay positive, and if there was anything he could do to help me to let him know. Little did he know, those few words of encouragement meant a lot. It felt good to experience the kindness of a stranger.
Sidebar: This is the second brother who has stepped to me to offer to help me. Now, my one and only focus for being there is to get my workout on. But if I had know it was like that, I would have hung out in the gym a looooooooong time ago…I’m just sayin…LOL…but I digress.
Anywho, I experienced another act of kindness earlier this week. A high school classmate of mine (Anthony Amoroso) sent me an eating plan that he’s been following that helped him to drop 15lbs. in 4 weeks (now you know I’m gonna follow that plan J.)
Wow, I feel good today, simply because of the encouragement and kindness of others. When you’ve been blessed, pass it on, pass it on. Hmmm, now let’s see…who can I encourage and bless today?
Much Love
