I feel like I’m in a tug of war every day, and frankly I’m tired of it! I battle with myself on a regular basis over:
- Making healthy food choices or going back to what I’m used to
- Going to the gym or skipping it (one day won’t hurt me)
- Running vs. walking (which of course is more comfortable)
- Lifting weights or putting it off until tomorrow
- Giving my trainer a hard time vs. doing what he tells me to do (I know he just loves me)
- Pushing past how I “feel” to do what needs to be done
- Juggling my schedule to make time for exercise
- Cooking my own meals vs. grabbing some “fast food”
- Grocery shopping after work vs. going home and chilling out
- Eating what I bring from home vs. ordering out
It’s ALL soooooo exhausting. How bout this? STOP FIGHTING IT! I’m only making it harder on myself mentally and emotionally, and for what? There’s no way around any of it. Anything worth having is worth working for, and trust me this is WORK.
Here are a few words that might help me out…SUCK IT UP!!!! The more I resist doing the work, the more the battle between me, myself, and I will persist, and I don’t have the energy to do the work AND to fight doing it at the same time.
Okay, that’s all I got in the way of a pep talk today…now get to work!
