I can see the finish line and it is a beautiful sight to behold. I’m coming to the end of my 40/40 challenge and I cannot wait to raise my arms in victory. I ran 3.50 miles today (3.25 straight without stopping.) I REALLY wanted to finish the challenge today, but I just couldn’t run another 3 miles, so the finish line awaits me tomorrow. My body hurts and I miss my Zumba. This week my focus was solely on running and I didn’t want to wear myself out and possibly jeapardize my chances of completing the challenge.
As much as I love running it’s hard on my body. I’m praying that won’t be the case as the pounds continue to come off. One thing I’m noticing is that each run is different. Like today, I was able to do a straight run, whereas yesterday I had to run intervals just to make it through. I’m starting to notice what times of day are better for me and definitely the importance of fueling my runs. There is so much to learn and so many ways in which to challenge myself. As I was running today I thought to myself that I wanted to be able to run 5 miles straight by the time my birthday rolls around. So that is my new challenge. I am now in training to run 5 miles on my 45th Birthday. I have a little less than 2 months to prepare. I know I can do it!
Much Love
Stacey
