What a difference a few days makes. This morning I stepped on the scale and I am down 1.8 lbs. from last Monday’s weight-in. I’m happy about the drop in weight, but honestly, even better than the lower number on the scale is the way that I’m feeling, which is amazing!
I’ve shared my “why’s” several times in the past and they have not changed, but here lately I have a bigger motivator. Getting rid of the pain in my back is my soul purpose right now for wanting and needing the weight to be gone. Surgery is out! Epidural shots are out (can’t afford to pay $300 for the anesthesia, which is amazing to me that insurance will cover the procedure but not the anesthesia so I won’t feel the pain).
Last month I decided once and for all to take matters into my own hands and to do something about my situation. Slowly and consistently I’ve been making changes. Small sustainable changes.
- I’ve been tracking my calories and working to stay under my daily count.
- I’ve added more water to my day, no less than 64 oz.
- This morning I added 25 minutes of stretching to my morning routine and I can feel the difference in my back already!
Of course there are more changes to come, but the point is I’m already reaping the rewards from my new habits and I couldn’t be more pleased. Case in point, since I’ve started drinking more water, I have not experienced the excruciating leg cramps I used to get in the middle of the night. I’m praising the Lord for that!
I’m telling you, patience and consistency (not perfection) are paying off and the scale can’t measure that!! I’m thankful the scale is going down, but I’m even more thankful to be feeling better.
