What a difference a month makes. Last month this time I felt horrible! I was irritable, my body felt achy, creaky, and stiff as a board. My back felt like a vice was tightening on it with every movement, large or small. I had absolutely no energy or desire to do anything but sleep. I felt this way for at least 2 weeks and then the week that followed I felt just as miserable.
If you hadn’t guessed, last month this time I was experiencing my monthly hormonal changes and physical hell. But today is a whole other story. If it weren’t for the obvious I wouldn’t know it was that time of the month. I’m not cranky. I’m not hurting. I have a good amount of energy and I’m not foggy or disoriented.
I honestly attribute this change in my cycle’s symptoms to my habit changes.
I have been cooking and eating from my own kitchen barring yesterday! No processed foods. No sugary treats. No caffeine. I have gone back to drinking decaffeinated coffee and only one cup in the morning with breakfast.
I have also increased my water intake. I’m sure this has been a big contributor.
I have been getting up early when the alarm goes off the first time and some mornings 30 minutes before the alarm goes off. Even though I know lying in bed for an extended period of time makes me feel stiff and sluggish, I would do it anyway…but no more.
If for no other reason than not to be a cranky, lethargic achy mess I am going to keep doing the things listed above because I sure am feeling good. Not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.
And psst, you want to know a secret? I think I might lose weight in the process
