We all need a little accountability from time to time. Some of us need more than others. I fall in the latter group. I’ve been a little quiet on my blog because quite honestly there hasn’t been much to share. I haven’t done anything that I wanted to do this month. That was up until last evening.
My first accountability shout out goes to my sister Candie for encouraging me to workout. She and I talk every other day, at least. She makes it a point to ask me how my journey is going, particularly since she has to listen to how miserable I’ve been since regaining some of the weight back. Last night around 9:30, she challenged me to get back on track with my workouts starting today. I promised her that I would. After hanging up and thinking about the conversation, I decided to get dressed right then and go to the gym. I workout for 30 minutes and felt wonderful! Oh but it didn’t stop there. Today I went to the gym after work and did day one of the C25K program and I had an awesome workout. Yay me…thank you Candie!
My second accountability shout out goes to my girl Keisha over at Red Letter Writing Diva for encouraging me to blog. It’s been a week since my last post because I just haven’t been motivated. This morning I received a text from my girl, which said: “It’s Monday and I’m looking forward to a blog post! Don’t lose momentum now.” Keisha, this post is for you girl…thank you!
My third accountability shout out goes to my friend Sonya. Last week she and I talked about starting the Ian Smith’s Smash diet this week. I wish I could say I stuck to my plans to start yesterday. When Sonya called today to check in and confess her own failure to start, that sparked a conversation about what it is we are attempting to do and how we are going to go about doing it. We both agreed that we are worth the effort, and committed to start making smart and healthy food choices. Although I didn’t start the smash diet, I did eat healthy today and I AM going to stay on this track.
I’ve got two days down and that is as far as I am looking. I’m taking this thing one day at a time. One meal at a time. One success at a time. I’m leaning hard on my friends and readers for encouragement and accountability. Thank you Candie, Keisha and Sonya for holding me accountable and prompting me to workout, blog and eat like I have some sense. Love you guys

It must be something in the air. I have not blogged in almost 2 weeks. Thank you for this post and putting me back on track! We got this we really do, just have to keep telling myself that this to is part of the Journey. Wishing you a successful week!

Thanks for the shout out, Stacey! We are sisters in this struggle girl, and it’s encouraging to read your blog because I feel like I’m not alone. So, I gotta keep you writing because it reminds me that I too need to write, and work out, and keep on moving!
