For those of you who read my blog on a regular basis, you know I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with the scale. I have honestly considered hurling it across the room and have vowed never to step on another scale again! But recently I was asked to test and review The Beets BLU Bluetooth Scale with smartphone tracking, and I’m glad I did!
What I like about this scale is that it measures and tracks not only your weight, but also your lean body mass, body fat percentage, muscle mass percentage, bone density percentage and BMI. It’s pretty cool to be able to track my progress on more than just “weight”.
I like the compact and sleek style of the scale and the fact that it is not large and clunky. It doesn’t take up a lot of room, which means I can leave it out in plain sight and not run the risk of out of sight out of mind when the time comes to use it.
As a non-techy person, it certainly passed the test. It was quick and easy to set up. In less than 5 minutes after inserting the the batteries and downloading the app I was up and running.
The coolest feature is that it syncs with my smartphone and in so doing, it keeps track and records of my daily, weekly and monthly progress. No more writing down or forgetting to write down my stats. It’s all right there at my finger tips.
The progress graph is a nice feature because it’s nice to be able to see a visual of your numbers going down and it also gives you the option of showing all stats at one time or just those that you’re truly interested in tracking. I like this option because right now for me, tracking anything other than my weight, BMI and muscle mass is just a little overwhelming. When the time comes for me to keep up with the other numbers, I can turn those options back on. So, if I had to rate this product on a “scale” (pun intended) of 1 to 5, I would definitely give it a five!
