As much as I wanted today to be all about a fresh start and a new beginning, I have to admit that I was a lazy, unproductive mess. I laid around watching movies all day or should I say they watched me. I have no idea why I felt so sluggish. In my lazy stupor, not far from my consciousness was the commitment I made to myself to workout every day this month. I was determined not to start off on the wrong foot by blowing off my commitment on day one.
Upon coming out of my coma I got up, got dressed and off to the gym I went. As I approached to parking lot I thought it was strange that there were so few cars. When I got to the door I could see the staff putting on their coats and that’s when I saw the sign on the door stating that the gym would be closing at 7:00 on New Year’s Day. At that point it was 7:01. My heart sank. Who knew that the 24/7 gym would close early on New Year’s Day???
I got back in the car and contemplated what would be my plan B. It was too cold and too dark to walk outside or hit the track. I’m guessing that the mall was closed too, so I couldn’t go there and walk around. I decided to come back home, turn on my dance playlist, hit shuffle and let her rip. For 35 minutes I boogied down to some of my favorite songs and worked up a serious sweat right here in my kitchen. No it wasn’t the workout I had planned to do, but it was a workout nevertheless AND I had fun! I even worked out my arms with my 3lb. weights as I shook my body down to the floor
Tomorrow I teach Zumba so that’s my scheduled workout, but in addition to that I will be hitting the gym for a run/walk workout before work. My mind is made up to do the darn thing and I am not gonna let anything stop me.
Nice to have met you through the challenge. I think that your plan should be to dance every night…it’s way more fun than jogging. Don’t you think?![My Profile](https://comealivein365.com/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheart.gif)

I do too Melissa. I had so much fun AND it didn’t feel like I was exercising. I call that a win-win![:-)](https://comealivein365.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/simple-smile.png)
