I am feeling super fantastic today! As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been feeling run down and a bit under the weather. I didn’t work out at all on Friday, which made me feel like a loser and I really struggled through my Zumba routine on Saturday. It’s hard to give it all you’ve got when you don’t feel all that hot. I was still feeling bad yesterday so I skipped going to the gym AGAIN. However, I told myself I would just go for a walk when I got home. That was before I realized it would be dark by then because of the time change. So there went both plans A and B.
Although I didn’t feel all that great, I really didn’t want another day to go by without doing something, so I went to plan C. I decided to do my own Zumba routine at home. I made a new playlist called “Zumba at Home” of the songs that I could remember the routines to. The list also included 5 songs that I just made up my own routine, and they were pretty good…LOL. All I have to say is Beyonce you may have my body, but I got your moves…so BAM! After an hour of my homemade Zumba, I was sweating just as much if not more than when I’m in class. I got in that kitchen (only room with a smooth surface for dancing) and danced like no one was watching. I got in a good workout, and I think I’ll do it again just for the fun of coming up with my own routines. I had a ball although I did miss the energy I get from doing it with a group of people.
I felt a little better this morning so I decided to hit the gym before work. The plan was just to get there and get moving, nothing strenuous. I walked at a nice pace for 25 minutes, and then decided to do a little running. Before I knew it I had ran for 5 straight minutes without stopping. I haven’t done that in a while. I think I could have done more, but whatever this is that has me under the weather began to tickle my throat and my lungs began to burn so I didn’t push it.
I feel so good because again, I pushed myself past my feelings. My commitment to my goal continues to override my emotions and that’s a wonderful thing.
Much Love
~ Stacey

Keep pushing Stacey! Your momentum will return. I know what you mean about walking outside now. Fernando and I walked Sunday. Monday and Tuesday in the dark to get our 3 miles in. You should join us! We’ll be walking Monday and Tuesdays at around 5:15, 5:30 or 6:00 pm. The earliest we can get it in.

Trac, that sounds cool. It’s not so bad walking in the dark as long as you’re not doing it alone, so I will take you up on that!
