I am super proud of myself. I stepped on the scale this morning and I am down 1.8 lbs. Let’s just say two pounds. Yay me! I was really happy to see the decrease because for the last 2 weeks the scale has not been my friend, but you know what? I did not stress about the number and that’s what I am really proud of. I am so over the scale. It has absolutely no power over me…only the power I choose to give it and this go around I choose to give it NONE!
This leg of my journey is all about getting healthy, feeling better, and being the absolute best me I can be…body, mind, and spirit! I’ve been consistent with eating from my own kitchen. I’m actually starting to enjoy cooking and if I can toot my own horn for a minute, I’m not half bad. I continue to get my water in, and this week I’ve added walking back into the equation.
Speaking of walking…I completed my 20-minute walk today in spite of my back, which was killing me. This morning I could hardly move but I decided early on that nothing was going to stop me from walking. I’m on a roll and I want to remain consistent. After taking a muscle relaxer and sleeping for a few hours I woke up feeling better. Not 100% but good enough to hit the pavement. I walked slow, took my time, got in my 20-minutes and called it a day. The walk did more for my mental well-being than anything else. And that’s the point. Everything I am doing is and will lead to weight loss, but the main reason I’m doing these things is to get my healthy back…and it’s working!
I’m off to bed soon and I am about to take another muscle relaxer with the hopes that the pain will be completely gone in the morning. But whether it is or isn’t I’m showing up for my walk again tomorrow. I already have my plan for what will be a rainy day. My gym bag is packed and I am ready to go!
