Hey, you know what? The time has come for you and me to Get Cha Mind Right! That’s really what success in anything boils down to, right? It all starts in our minds which, as I always say, is the biggest and most challenging muscle in our bodies, to exercise. Our thoughts dictate our actions, for better or for worse. Right thinking leads us to right and forward movement in a positive direction. Wrong thinking will lead us in the wrong direction and cause us to stay stuck. But the good news is that we have a choice.
My friend Stephanie Ford, Founder of Get Cha Mind Right, Inc. held an awesome Women’s Empowerment Conference this past Saturday. From start to finish it delivered on the promise of providing us with information that would shake loose our stinking thinking and encourage us all to “get cha mind right”! The anticipation leading up to the event was palpable, and I’m telling you it did not disappoint. The line up of speakers was top notch, cream of the crop. Each speaker spoke for 20 minutes top, and the information they shared was truly impactful. Here are the take aways that resonated with me:
Jeneen Barlow of Bemoreexcellent.com spoke on the theme of Living Your Purpose
- Only you can do what you’ve been assigned to do…it’s time to tell your story
- The most courageous thought is to think for yourself…and to do it out loud
- You have to have courage to do what you’ve been assigned to do
- Fall in love with your vision
- You have to take action to get results
- Live in the flow….get in the zone!
- Seek people of understanding and become a person of understanding
Jocelyn Wright, Managing Partner of Ascension Wealth Management, LLC spoke on the theme of Developing a Right Mentality for Money
- We have to train our minds for money, just like we train our bodies for a race or competition
- Model what wealthy people do (here’s a hint: they don’t spend it all up)
- Stop thinking about what you can spend your money on and start thinking about how you can increase your net worth
- Budgeting is key – you have to tell your money what you’re going to do and not the other way around
Reverend Maxine L. Johnson, Pastor of St. Paul AME Church in Harrington, Delaware spoke on the topic of How To Get Cha Mind Right in a World of Chaos
- Abide in the Lord – no matter what’s going on around us, we can live in expectation that God’s got it
- Saturate yourself in His Word
- Listen to what God has to say – there’s something that God has to say to you, but you have to be still long enough to hear Him
- Obey! Not only do we have to listen to what God is saying…we must obey!!
- Pray!!! Much prayer, much power…little prayer, little power…no prayer, NO POWER!
And then we were blessed to hear from Ernestine Shephard, the Guinness World Record Oldest Female Body Builder and physical fitness royalty as far as I’m concerned. As she shared her story, you could hear a pin drop. She is living proof behind the phrase “age is nothing but a number”. At age 79 she puts the “shape” in good shape. I can only hope pray to one day be where she is. I’m encourage, since she started her journey at the age of 56! That means I still have time
When I say this lady is sharp, you better know that in the dictionary next to sharp is her beautiful face and chiseled body. I couldn’t help but fill up as she shared her story, secretly asking myself, could this one day be me?
I left the conference with new vision, new determination and new fervor for my journey.
Thank you Stephanie for listening to God and stepping out on the assignment he’s given to you. I know I’m not the only one who was deeply impacted by the conference, the words that were shared by the speakers, the energy that permeated the room and the attention given to each and every detail that set the stage for us all to “Get Cha Mind Right”! Well done my friend. Well done!

Stacey as my eyes fill up while reading your blog and the chills fill my arms, all I can say is thank you! Thank you for sharing in my vision at this awesome conference. Thank God for the vision and thanks to people like you for believing in me. Very well written summary of the conference. I felt like I was there all over again.

Awww Stephanie, now my eyes are filling up. All thanks go to you Lady. It truly was a powerful experience, one I won’t soon forget. I will keep you in my prayers, for I know the plans God has for you will require faith on your part and a constant covering from those of us who know you, believe in you and are here to support you. Blessing and Much Love to you!

I was there and yes, it was all that you said and more. There was a thirst for the life changing information that was practically given away and there was fire in the air as the ladies stood on their feet anticipating more. This conference offered much more than any of us expected from a 1st time event. I am utterly impressed and cannot wait until the next one. Get Cha Mind Right ladies. God has so much more for us to do and Stephanie Ford and colleagues are right here to help us do it. I pray eternal success for GYMR. With God all things are possible. #GYMR2015

Hi Diane!! I agree with you…100%! There definitely was a thirst and I believe some ladies received a breakthrough at the conference. I too can’t wait for the next one. I don’t know how, but I know Stephanie will outdo herself next year and we’ll all get to benefit…again
Jocelyn Wright says

Hey Jocelyn!! Thank you…and thank you again…for imparting some financial wisdom on us Saturday. I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to say hello, but you where phenomenal! Everything you shared struck a cord with me. Thank you for painting a real clear picture of why (and how) we need to “Get Cha Mind Right” when it comes to our finances. And yes…until next year…

In businesses there is a lot talk about strategies for making money, but I thank the speakers for reminding me and focusing on that our mind is also highly effective in our achievement.
I especially like to thank Stephanie Ford for sharing her gift. The conference was awesome, very informative and up lifting. Continue to follow God’s plan in your life. Look forward to attending your next conference. Be Bless!
