I am feeling good! There is NOTHING like setting a goal and accomplishing it. No, I didn’t run a marathon. No, I didn’t climb Mount Everest. No, I didn’t swim the ocean wide. Nope, I didn’t do anything monumental. I simply went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. What’s the big deal you ask? The big deal is that even though my goal wasn’t “a big deal”, it was something I set out to do and I did it!
Now that I’m off to a good start, I am ready to keep going. Today is the first day of a new month. Last year this time is when I went off track and never really got back on course. So I’m setting my goals for October 2013 and I already feel like I’m winning
Okay so here are my goals:
- Workout everyday this month. (Walking, Running, and Zumba)
- Prepare myself to run the Lupus Loop on October 27th (at least most of it)
- Cook and eat out of my own kitchen
- Stop drinking soda AGAIN (already off to a good start, four days soda free)
- Blog consistently about my journey as a way to hold myself accountable
- Lose 10lbs.
Working out everyday is more for my mind than it is for my body. If I can get my mind back on board with moving my body consistently, that’s half the battle. As far as eating from my own kitchen, I’ve been cooking my own meals since last Wednesday (whoot whoot), and the meals have been both healthy and good, so why not keep it up? I am not going to put all that crazy pressure on myself as I move forward. I WANT to do these things and I will. So whose with me?

Good for you! I always say that it is best to make small steps and have a WIN rather than plan big things and have disappointment.
So glad you did it. I wish you well on all your goals.

I am with you. My first step is to as you say eat out of my own kitchen even though today I was not as good as previous days Next is moving my body more which starts tomorrow (working out whether morning or afternoon).

Ethel!!! Looks like we have the same goals. I can honestly say that I am enjoying my own cooking more and more AND I’m not spending as much money (double win). I hope you were able to stick to your goal to workout. It’s difficult but I’m finding that once the first step is taken, it gets a little easier. Keep me posted on your progress Miss you in class.

I’m with you too. My first step was to draw a line in the sand and say to myself, “no more eating like an out of control 5 year old with no understanding of nutrition.”. Then I stopped mailing it in at the gym and started challenging myself by taking a Tabata class. Today I feel like a Mack truck hit my thighs – but I’m cool with that for now. Keep up the good work Stacey!

Hey Keisha! Thanks for checking in I want to get to where you are. I’m not up to challenging myself just yet. Right now my challenge is to show up daily. Once I conquer that then it’s on! I will promise to keep up the good work if you do the same. Do we have a deal?
