I’m excited because I am about to pump things up with my workouts. Recently I haven’t been as consistent as I would like. That is about to change. I’ve been focusing on one thing at a time trying to get some things firmly under my belt.
- Tracking my eating daily
- Drinking my water (64 oz.)
- Eating from my own kitchen and
- Sticking to my morning routine
I’m not saying I’m 100% on all of these. Sometimes depending on the craziness of my day I may not get in all of my water or I may grab something to eat from a fast food joint while on the go, but for the most part these habits are firmly in place.
Now I’m ready to add the exercise component back in my life. I have all of the equipment I need to do my strength training. I’ve written out my workout plan for the week, which includes 3 days of strength training and 2 days of cardio (walk away the pounds and dancing).
The only thing left to do is decide when I will workout. I need to make this a routine by establishing a set time for me to workout each day. Thinking through how my day usually pans out and how I feel by the end of the day (especially my back), it makes sense for me to workout in the mornings before going to work. That way it’s done. I won’t run the risk of making excuses as the day progresses and I won’t have to carry the burden of thinking about it all day.
So, with that, my new morning routine will be as follows:
- Rise, shine, give God the glory
- Brew my coffee
- Have my devotions and prayer
- Stretch
- Workout (strength training or cardio)
- Shower
- Eat my breakfast
- Dress for work
- Out the door I go
Right now I get up at 6:00 but I’m going to start getting up at 5:30 so I can fit it all in and not feel hurried or rushed. That way I get the most important things I need to do each day done and I get to start my day off on the good foot. I like that plan and I’m looking forward to getting moving again!!
