This is my “I’m glad it’s over face”. I ran in my fifth 5K Race of the year this morning and although I was glad it was over, I have to say it wasn’t half bad. I’m getting better at this I suppose, which is probably an indication that it’s time to step it up. My plan for this month was to do no less than 3 miles on my run days. I was able to stick to that commitment on the few days I did get my work in. The only problem was I didn’t maintain my planned workout schedule and skipped two weeks of running :-/ So, I was glad I was able to run today and do so without stopping!
Today’s race was in support of Lupus. “Black Girls Run” showed up and showed out in full force once again, as a group, to support one of our sisters who has the disease and who made it her mission and purpose to run in the race for the first time this year. We were all so very proud of her and grateful to be a part of her milestone victory.
Thanks to this generous sister, who blessed those of us who were on her team, I received my first medal, which was a part of the gift bags she gave out to say thank you. It was not just any metal, but one with bling bling and my name engraved on it. How cool is that?
I was honored to be able to run alongside my friend Cynthia Hayward who ran her first 5K Race today. Whoo, hooo! She did an awesome job and was a great pace partner. I found myself having to dig deeper to keep up with her. Girlfriend was moving I’m so proud of her and looking forward to doing it again.
Can’t leave my girl Traci out who has been by my side for every race since we started this journey last year. Love you Trac!
Not only do we run and support each other, but we never miss an opportunity to pose Diva Style for the camera

The end of the race is absolutely the best part of the race for more than one reason. One, the darn thing is OVER! Two, you are so pumped because YOU DID IT! And three, we get to pose pretty for the camera Who needs make-up? We know how to let our natural beauty shine through
Kudos to you!!! YOU DID IT!!! So proud of you!
