“Every day you need to remind yourself that TODAY is the day to make a change.”
My weight loss journey has been full of ups and downs (pun intended). I’ve had my share of challenges, victories, setbacks, obstacles, and successes. When I’m working out, eating healthy, and the weight is coming off…that is the greatest feeling in the world. When I am not doing any of those things, well that sucks! There are days when I feel like I was born to take on this journey and then there are days when I feel like the journey has gone on it’s way without me.
Motivation is a big factor in weight loss success. It’s that thing that gets me out of bed on a rainy Monday morning at 5:00 a.m. to hit the gym. It’s that thing that inspires me to eat a head of lettuce instead of that cheese steak I’ve been dying to have. Motivation keeps me going when I have no more go in me. When I’ve got it there’s nothing that can stop me. When I don’t there’s absolutely nothing that can move me.
Motivation comes and it goes. I wish it did stay for the long haul, but the fact of the matter is that each and every day I have to dig deep to find that something inside of me that will make me get up, get out, and get moving. It’s different each day AND it’s different for each of us. That thing that motivates me will do absolutely nothing for you.
One of the things that motivates me is being able to inspire others with my story and through my successes ESPECIALLY after I’ve had a few stumbles. There’s nothing more motivational to me than to get back up, dust myself off and try, try again. That’s kind of what Monday’s represent for me…that try try again spirit.
So, with today being Mojo Monday, I’m excited about it. It’s another new week, it’s another fresh start. It’s another brand new day to exercise my faith, to try try again and to go to work on all the things that I said I wanted to do. I feel good about starting my week with some fresh mojo, what about you? What is the one thing you are going to do this week to move you one step closer to your goal? How will you complete this sentence? Today I will….
[…] as I continue my Mojo Monday series, I am encouraged by the power of the calendar. It helps me to look at the year (or now in this case […]
