As much as I would love to live in a perfect world, there is no such thing! As much as I would like for things to go my way and to go as I have planned, life just doesn’t work that way. The point is, life happens or as I read in the book, The Power of Positive Thinking, life is so daily.
It’s true isn’t it? I don’t care how much you plan or try to prepare, there’s often times something that will come along to knock you off your square. In the world of trying to lose weight, these things can be classified as excuses. You know what I mean. They sound something like this…
- “I overslept and missed my workout”
- “I left my lunch at home, guess I have to order out”
- “I had a long stressful day. All I have energy for is watching TV from the couch”
Now these are all valid life circumstances. But the truth of the matter is that they are merely inconveniences or shall we call a spade a spade…mere excuses. When it comes to losing weight and needing to do what it takes to reach your goals, do you want success or do you want convenience? You can’t have both.
Success in anything requires time, effort, sacrifice and pressing on even when it is not convenient to do so. If it is your desire to make consistent progress on your journey you have to come to an acceptance that convenience will not always be a part of the equation.
