In a recent post, I shared that I have been weighing myself daily just as a way to monitor myself. I want to keep an eye out and make sure that the numbers are moving AND that they are moving in the right direction. Once I’ve truly settled into my routine of working out consistently and eating better, I will not do the daily weigh in thing, because quite honestly it’s frustrating. I weigh myself every morning around the same time and before I have anything to eat. Each day the scale says something different, but I will say this…it is continuing to move in the right direction, so I’ll take it. As I’ve shared, my weekly weight loss target number is 1.67lbs. This morning’s weigh-in had me down a whole 6lbs. since I’ve started my consistency challenge the beginning of the month. Whoot! Whoot!
Although this makes me very happy, I’m not quite ready to celebrating yet. Because my numbers fluctuate anywhere between one and two pounds on any given day, to celebrate would be a little premature. I’ll break out the party horn and hat when I see some stability in the numbers.
Here’s the thing, although I am weighing myself daily (again something I don’t recommend), I know that the true measure of my success cannot be found on the scale. The true measure of my success can be weighed by:
- The fact that I am feeling so much better. My back feels better and outside of the blisters on my feet, my body is in much better shape in terms of how it feels.
- My outlook on life these days. I’m happier, I feel accomplished, I feel more in control, I’m focused, determined and committed to changing my habits and my lifestyle. This is spilling over into other areas of my life and that for sure is a good thing.
- I have more bounce in my step, even when I hit the pavement for my daily walk I feel like I’m walking on sunshine
So yes, today I feel great! Not to mention that it’s Friday….YAY!

I want you to know because you are out there
it helps me to get out there and keep going.
Also if you need more confirmation I also see
all that in you also. I could tell in Thursday
that you were moving better and feeling better (it
was on your face)!
